Terms of Business for Hatt Electrical
1. Introduction
These Terms of Business ("Terms") apply to all services provided by Hatt Electrical ("the Company", "we", "us", or "our") to our customers ("you" or "the Client"). By engaging our services, you agree to the following terms.
2. Services Provided
Hatt Electrical specializes in providing electrical installation, maintenance, and repair services. Our services are detailed in the individual agreements, quotations, or invoices and may include, but are not limited to:
- Electrical installations and upgrades
- Electrical safety inspections
- Rewiring
- Lighting installation and design
- Fuseboard upgrades
- General electrical repairs and maintenance
3. Quotations and Pricing
- All quotations are provided based on the information available at the time of the estimate. Prices may be subject to change if additional work or unforeseen circumstances arise.
- A written quotation or estimate will be provided before any work commences unless otherwise agreed.
- Quotations are valid for a period of 30 days from the date issued unless otherwise specified.
- All prices are inclusive of VAT, unless otherwise stated.
4. Payment Terms
- A deposit may be required before work commences, depending on the size and nature of the job. The deposit amount will be agreed upon in writing.
- Final payment is due upon completion of the work or as per the payment schedule outlined in the agreement or invoice.
- Payments must be made by bank transfer or another agreed-upon method.
- Late payments may incur interest charges at a rate of 50% per month.
5. Cancellation and Rescheduling
- Should you wish to cancel or reschedule the work, you must notify us in writing at least 48 hours before the scheduled start date.
- Cancellations made after this time may incur a cancellation fee.
- If we are required to reschedule due to unforeseen circumstances, we will make every effort to accommodate your schedule and minimize any inconvenience.
6. Responsibilities of the Client
- The Client must ensure that the property is accessible and that there is adequate space for the work to be carried out safely.
- The Client must provide any necessary permits or permissions for the work, if applicable.
- The Client agrees to ensure that all equipment or electrical appliances are disconnected and that the work area is clear of any obstructions before the electrician arrives.
7. Health and Safety
- We adhere to strict health and safety standards in the execution of all electrical work.
- If the work requires us to make alterations to the electrical system, we will ensure compliance with relevant regulations, including the IET Wiring Regulations (18th Edition).
- We reserve the right to stop work if any unsafe conditions are identified.
8. Warranty and Guarantees
- We provide a warranty on all electrical work for a period of [3] years from the date of completion, unless otherwise stated.
- The warranty covers defects in workmanship but does not cover damage caused by misuse, wear and tear, or third-party interventions.
- Materials or components used may be subject to the manufacturer's warranty, and any claims for defects will be handled directly with the manufacturer.
9. Liability and Insurance
- We carry public liability insurance to cover any damage to property or injury that may arise during the course of work.
- While we take every precaution to prevent accidents or damage, Hatt Electrical accepts no liability for any loss or damage caused by pre-existing conditions at the property or issues that are beyond our control.
10. Dispute Resolution
- In the event of a dispute, we will make every effort to resolve the matter amicably.
- If resolution is not possible through informal means, the dispute may be referred to an independent mediator or arbitrator.
11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of [Jurisdiction], and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in that region.
12. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify or update these Terms at any time. Any changes will be communicated to the Client, and the new Terms will apply to all future work.
